Services using DVB standards are available on every continent, with well over 1 billion DVB receivers deployed. DVB-S and DVB-S2 are used in virtually every country in the world. DVB-C is also widely used. At least 143 countries have adopted and/or deployed either DVB-T or DVB-T2.
DVB Members can below download a spreadsheet that tracks the implementation of digital terrestrial television standards around the world. While information is provided for many countries, there is a particular focus on ITU Region 1 countries (Europe, Africa and parts of Asia/Middle East). Additional worksheet tabs provide access to charts and tables based on the data.
The DTT Implementation Status spreadsheet is updated monthly, with the research funded by the DVB Project, the EBU and Broadcast Networks Europe. Terms and Conditions for its use are included in the comment attached to cell A1, along with contact details for the editor of the table.
News and discussion about DVB-T2 can be found in this LinkedIn Group dedicated to the topic.
This section of the website mainly covers the adoption and deployment of DVB-T and DVB-T2, but in some cases information regarding other DVB transmission standards (DVB-S/S2, DVB-C/C2, etc.) is also provided.
While we believe the information to be correct we cannot guarantee its accuracy and we welcome any information you might have about the deployment of DVB technology in your country.
