YLE - Yleisradio Oy
Yle is Finland's national public service broadcasting company. Yle operates four national television channels and six radio channels and services complemented by 25 regional radio programmes. In addition there is an high definition channel Yle HD. The websites are yle.fi, svenska.yle.fi . Yle's operations are financed until the ebd of 2012 mainly by television fee (EUR 252,25 per year), and programming carries no advertising. The company is 99.9% state-owned and supervised by an Administrative Council appointed by Parliament, and operates under the Act on Yleisradio Oy. 2007 was a year of switch to digital television. Antenna households switched to the digital era in September 2007, while in cable households the switch was postponed until the beginning of March 2008.
