Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS is the Home of MP3 and the leading research laboratory in the field of high quality low bitrate audio coding. Fraunhofer IIS has contributed decisively to the MPEG AAC standard and is a driving force in the on-going MPEG Surround standardization process.
